Universal Prosperity
in the Age of AI.

Investigating how technological wealth could help guarantee essential material needs while preserving freedom, open markets and the pursuit of knowledge.

The purpose

A long-term mission.
An open research agenda.

AI and automation may change what societies can produce and what people can achieve. Their capabilities raise an institutional question: how could prosperity become more widely accessible while strengthening individual freedom?

Our programme will investigate, design and test possible pathways over the coming decades. It is broader than a short-term study of taxation or a commitment to one predetermined policy.

What success would mean

Better knowledge, credible mechanisms, useful experiments and international cooperation that expand the range of possibilities available to people.

Building the programme

From questions to work.

01

Investigate

Compare economic models, institutional arrangements and the evidence behind them.

02

Design

Develop possible mechanisms, making assumptions, trade-offs and limits explicit.

03

Experiment

Work towards feasible pilots and tests with competent research and operational partners.

04

Share and cooperate

Publish work, invite criticism and connect people who can develop promising approaches.

The next step

Build the capacity for long-term inquiry.

Research expertise and founding support can help turn this agenda into a sustained programme.
